4 Vision Fugitives & Little Requiem in the form of 3 Antique Dances - Queensland Music Teachers’ Association Recital

Pianist Daniel Johnson will perform my 4 Vision Fugitives and Little Requiem in the form of 3 Antique Dances in an August recital for the Queensland Music Teachers Association.

In addition to being an advocate for Australian piano music, Daniel is an examiner for the Australian Music Examinations Board.

The recital features the music of Miriam Hyde in addition to myself.

Two piano miniatures from '4 Vision Fugitives' (2007!). Written as a gift for my mother who had recently bought a grand piano. Left hand only plays the 'black keys' while the right hand plays the 'white keys'. Written for intermediate/early-advanced pianists. Movements 1 & 3 are 'jazzy' in style, while movements 2 & 4 are more 'abstract'. Pieces pay homage to composers I would play on the piano as a teenager: Béla Bartók, Leonard Bernstein and Carl Vine. Let me know if you would like a copy of the score.
